Omni Garage
New Zealand
Приєднався 13 вер 2006
Omni Garage is built around a partnership between Glenn and Glenn (yes - we both have the same name) who individually bring to the table a range of skill and experience. A collective effort and a common passion for vehicles, resulted in the inception of Omni Garage.
We discovered we both found great enjoyment spending time in the garage, where we would detail, maintain our vehicles and discuss new detailing products. At times there were conversations about how we could model this concept into a business - UA-cam was the perfect platform to do this. It was during an uneventful summer vacation that our first video was released and Omni Garage was created.

Are These Tesla Accessories Better Than OEM?
Our friends over at Halo Blk recently sent us two of their newest products to test out on the Tesla Model Y, the Trunk Mat Set and the Windshield Sun Shade Umbrella. We had previously been impressed by their interior organisational accessories, so were excited to experience the unboxing of another Halo Blk product.
A little background - we receive countless emails from companies wanting us to test out their third-party Tesla specific accessories, and to-date, we've turned down every single one of them. That is until Halo Blk initially reached out to us, wanting us to take a look at their accessories. Truth be told - it was their product packaging and presentation which caught our eye!
Thanks to Halo Blk for sending out this products for us to test out haloblk.com/

your install of the upmbrella is wrong making it cumbersome. you should open it half way so it extends over the screen then keep opening until it is completely opened then slide the umbrella in place over the screen. after you've fully opened the umbrella and placed it behind the screen, then you tie it to the rear view mirror and adjust and put down the visors for better hold. you tied it down first before opening limiting your working area. When you remove it just do the reverse. Bring the umbrella out from behind the screen first then close it. dont try to close it from behind the screen.
Thanks, this will be perfect for me. I don't need a lot of power, I just have a tiny yard and my edges look pretty good. Being lightweight and not dealing with mixing gas/oil or coping with a cord is worth a lot to me. I have fescue in my yard too, bluegrass is more common here in the US midwest, but it is even less drought tolerant, so I made the switch.
The "widebody" you're talking about isn't an STI feature, but is the standard body lines of the sedan GD impreza. The factory tinted glass is just usual tinted glass. It was an option from out of the showroom, and isn't hard to acquire aftermarket. The fuel efficiency in my 05 GG WRX is actually quite good. I get 450-500 on a full tank, 450 being the more spirited driving economy. One con that could be added to this, is the known common rust spots in the rear strut tower.
Should try out GYEON tire.
Cheers, we will give it a try!
I used this product and not very efective. The best product i used is Soft 99 Glaco series , much better then rain x & turtle wax clear vue. Now i use after washing the car , Gyeon Bathe plus.....put in foam canon , spray on the whole car and rinse it off & dry. Also no streaks on windows and they feel super soft
I’m really keen to try the Glaco glass coating, the story behind it sound interesting. Any windscreen shudder with wiper blades?
Stupid Movie, what is left on that car is Tar and aspahlt, you need special tar remover for that or petro/or citrus. so if you use one of that first, lett that dwell on car for 3-5 minutes and then add Lift you will se a clean car, you should learn how to wash car and what chemical is used for what problem.
No stupid at all. This did not lift the dirt off the paint. But hey you know more than I do.
Yall need to give Armour detail supply tire + , nv onyx
We have our first two Armour Detail Supply products on the way from the US right now! We will add this to the list up next.
@@OmniGarage Cant wait to hear your thoughts
@Ecdetails we will let you know.
Great product and review as well! Have you tried KCX PSS? If so, what do you think of it as a tire dressing?
This is one we haven’t tried yet. We will pick it up and let you know our thoughts via a video.
Adams graphene tire dressing is my favorite and adams tire and rubber cleaner. I use adams and optimum polymer technologies for everything.
I have only used Adam’s shampoo a long time ago. Would like to try a few different wheel cleaners at some stage.
@@OmniGarage the tire and rubber cleaner, graphene tire dressing, and mega foam are my 3 favorite Adams products.
@cheesedoodle2327 I have seen a lot of graphene products around with various opinions. What do you like about graphene products?
@@OmniGarage honestly that's the only graphene product I use. The Adams graphene tire dressing. It just had a great satin appearance. The graphene might be a gimmick but that tire dressing looks great and lasts a solid 3 weeks per application.
That is interesting to know. A tire dressing with longevity is key. I find dressing with longevity is often petroleum based which are nasty to deal with. Is it petroleum based?
Appreciate the love SIr , awesome video!
Hey Eddy! Awesome to see you watch the video and drop a comment! Crazy to be connected like this from the other side of the world. Our rinseless washes have massive inspiration from you. We really appreciate your work. We are slowly working our way through your top 5 recommended rinseless washes. Going to try DIY detail today. Keep up the good work!
@@OmniGarage Man thats crazy! I appreciate you I had no idea that NXTzen was near you their rinseless wash is kind of wild they are around you im assuming your in Australia. ZNR, Hero, DIY, Labo ( sealant is stout) Feynlab, RRW sooo good
We are in New Zealand, so pretty close to Australia. But must try NXTzen out. We have Hero ordered and on the way. I hope that is a killer product.
@@OmniGarage it’s good good oh and sorry for assuming bro
No problem. Ok sweet can’t wait to try it.
Does the blade spin both ways that’s what’s confusing me and my new one
No it’s one long blade. So only spins one way.
Hey there! Just watched your video and have couple of questions. Please answer it:- 1. I am also looking to buy MTM HYDRO SGS28 Gun with swivel but amazon doesn’t offer the fittings like quick connects. 2. I have Bosch Aquatak 125 bars pressure washer machine, so how do i connect hose pipe with MTM Hydro SGS28 swivel gun.? 3. And, what was the angle lanced(just before you plugged the kachre connector) the will you provide link from amazon so i can buy it
Use a disposable plastic cup to unscrew your filters the rest of the way. That was the cup catches the oil instead of it getting all over your hand
Fantastic idea.
It will be a new purchase for me. Very helpful video, thanks so much!
No problem at all. Enjoy!
Thank you!
5:43 Great advise!
Thank you
I personally use rinseless in place of regular soap, rather than a traditional rinseless wash. The reason being exactly what you guys proved at the end of the video, which is that rinseless cleans your mitt better and I've noticed that it does actually draw more dirt to the bottom of your bucket compared to regular soap. I still like to foam first with KCX AF to remove 80% of the dirt and I still rinse after the contact wash because I like rinsing off all the agitated dirt and I like drying a clean car. I've currently been using Absolute however, after seeing how easily that white towel came clean I think RRW cleans better than absolute. Absolute will definitely remove some dirt from the mitt but RRW looks next level in that aspect.
Thank you for your comments. Yes a hybrid wash is becoming very popular. I am yet to try that method. I recommend doing that trick with all rinseless washes to see how well it cleans the cloth. Some will really surprise you. RRW did a pretty decent job. What is your favourite rinseless and soap combo?
@@OmniGarage At the moment I'm loving Koch chemie active foam, it cleans moderately dirty coated cars quite well. I'd say it removes 80% of the dirt. Rinseless wise I'm using absolute which is quite slick and cleans decently but it won't clean microfiber as good as you guys showed with RRW. Although I'm cleaning a relatively clean car once AF has done its job. Lately I've been seeing all the hybrid wash videos but personally I still like to wash the rinseless off and dry a clean car. Less chance of scratching in my mind. I purely use rinseless as soap replacement. If I had to guess I'd say KCX RRW or ADS Hero and Bilt hamber touchless v2 is probably the best foam and rinseless combo.
@KiranPatel-fk1pg than you for the comments. We have just order a bottle of ADS Hero and ADS Amplify so those will be interesting to try out. Bilt Hamber is really hard to get here in NZ (as with most products) so haven’t tried any of their range.
@@KiranPatel-fk1pgYou are 100% correct. I do my hybrid washes with Bilt Hamber Touchless and Absolute but to be honest Hero, Koch Chemie RRW & DIY Detail Rinseless Washes are way better than absolute in cleaning power, my last wash with Absolute was a little bit of a disappointment and I will be using Hero or RRW from now on….Absolute will be demoted to interior cleaning and maybe drying aid or clay lubricant.
How do you find using a rinseless wash as an interior cleaner?
KCx RRW is an excellent product.
Yes it is good. What would be your favourite?
@@OmniGarage DIY rinseless wash is great. Also Armour Detail Supply Hero is excellent
@b374mxg I have DIY on the shelf and Hero on its way. So will be excited to give them a decent go. Which one do you like the best?
@@OmniGarage both are excellent. So many great rinseless wash products on the market. It is difficult to just go with one. I have a collection!
@b374mxg yeah there has been a bit of a boom of them recently
What’s that bloower called😊
Ego
Sorry it was a RYOBI one, but I took the nozzle off.
@@OmniGarage do you know what exact model
No I don’t sorry. They don’t make that model anymore. I’ve upgraded to their new 36v blower. It is way better than the one in this video. Have a look on our UA-cam channel, I made a video about it.
Attracts dust like crazy. Meguiars hybrid ceramic spray wax works amazing for me
LOVE this video. I always struggle around my drains using my weed eater!! Never occured to use my ryobi edger!! Thank YOU!
No problem. Happy to help.
It will streak with more product. I would recommend trying one spray to mist it over the entire surface and see if it works. It’s also not great as a stand alone protectant.
In video we said we tried using less product. No difference.
@@OmniGarage I heard cutting down to 3 sprays unless I missed it being stated it was brought back to 1 spray. It’s a really finicky product. It also does not play well with certain glass sealants and coatings.
@MikeGDetailing no sealants, no coatings on any of the glass, it was a bare surface. Tried on multiple cars (two are in the video) another car tried off camera. Varying techniques, various amounts of product.
You asked if anyone else has experienced streaking. Yes, that’s how I found your video. I’ve been struggling with Clarify Phobic and streaking on two different cars over the couple of weeks. It’s making me crazy. I even used Carpro Eraser to remove any existing residue on the windshield before applying Clarify. It still streaked - exactly in the way you described. Funny enough, the Eraser did a fantastic job on the glass and I’m going back out to clean off the Clarify with more Eraser!
Thank you for your feedback. Pleased that it’s not just us struggling with this product. Lots of people are having very different experiences. Some say just “wipe” off the excess, some say that doesn’t work. Interesting.
@@OmniGarage I’m jealous of those that have a good experience with it as Carpro makes great products and I really want to like it. Wiping it off just seems to move the smears around for me.
Very consistent with what we’ve found. We will keep looking for the next product!
@maz012967 absolutely, we use a lot of their stuff and for many years. As we said in the vid the concept is fantastic and i can see this type of product doing well. But the product has to work for everyone, with a range of techniques/experiences.
Wipe off with a dump towel , it will resolve streaking issues
It clearly didn’t work for us.
@@OmniGarage strange, it worked for me
It’s garbage . I’ve used it & sold it on. Gyeon glass + is not much better tbh . Both smeary mess
Thank you for the comment and pleased someone else had similar results. Was starting to think it was us. I find glass products/ glass cleaning /glass hydrophobics a very finicky area of detailing. Often left with a smeary mess, lint on the glass, smudges, poor behaviour with window wipers etc.
@@OmniGaragewhat’s your favourite glass cleaner you have found
Gyeon Q2M glass cleaner so far is our go to. Have tried Carpro, invisible glass, Gtechniq, Meguiars, P&S, angle wax, Koch Chemie so rather a lot.
@@OmniGarage gyeon is a brand I’ve personally found to be very overrated & underwhelming tbh ! Carpro like wise
What is your go to?
How unfortunate. I would be so annoyed, especially after detailing the entire car. I hope you can get your money back on that one due to the safety concerns from reduced visibility.
Luckily it wears off after a few weeks.
Seems you sprayed too much over the glass and worked under direct sunlight which accelerate the alcohol to flash faster , just wipe off the residues smearing after 1min or so and it will come off.
Thanks for chiming in! We tried numerous methods, both inside away from the sun and outside, and applied various amounts (down to 4 sprays for a full windshield) and experienced similar product behaviour. Is there any possibility our issue was due to a “bad” batch of product?
I wonder if it needs a couple of drops of water on the final wipe to remove the smearing. If I remember correctly, Rain-x instructions tell you to do that to remove the haze.
Tried this and had no luck, unfortunately.
I’m currently using Gyeon Q2M GLASS+ and it has great hydrophobic properties with no streaking issues if applied correctly using their 2 towel method. Maybe give it a go?
Fantastic! We will pick up a bottle and give it a go. Cheers for the suggestion.
@@OmniGaragesave your money gyeon version is no better !! Load of rubbish & not very user friendly either especially in colder climates. Smeary overpriced overrated mess both gyeon & carpro .
you can refill both, don't worry buying that cartridge
Can you cut a wider boarder away from the path
Can you cut a wider boarder out
Pro tip. Clean face of the wheel before barrels. Otherwise you are just grinding the filth pouring out of the barrels on the face of the wheels.
I’ve tried in this order before, but tend to have to reclean the face of the wheels as a result.
Which soap did you use in the bucket ?
Usually GSF but that was P&S pearl
I find gyeons wheel cleaner that includes the iron dissolver to be superior personally.
Can you use it in a foam cannon/ foamer?
do you think the wood brush spinning that fast could damage hardwood decking? it's labor intensive to manually brush the entire deck to clean before brightening and oiling application. hoping this might be a time and labor saver. thanks!
In my tires really dont work on less you use it 1-0
Yeah that is what we prefer 1:1.
I find it decent on wheels but, not on tires. For me, it doesn't cut through the grime. I only use water-based dressings and it struggles to remove the old layer. Keep the videos coming!
If you are using it for a maintenance wash you don’t want it to always strip off the tire dressing. For a good clean of the rubber we use carpro re tire.
Thankyou. I used a carwash last night and didnt realise how much pressure the sprayer has. Oh no! What damage have i done? I now know what i should do next time. Like you have shown, i will be taking my own gear next time. I actually like the leaf blower!
Hopefully you have a better experience next time.
Red3600 broken now can stop the blade with light touch of finger,
This pased for audi a6 4f ?
Excellent tutorial. Thank you. I am about to use my brand Ryobi Edger now that I watched your video.
Do not tell people not to run the wheel on the grass I have areas that HAS to be cut with the wheel on the grass.
I tried the Ryobi 18-volt edger for about 10 minutes I found it to be gutless I took it straight back from where I purchased it and exchanged it for the Ryobi 36-volt which does a great job. Pay a little more and you will be a great deal happier. The old adage you get what you pay for.
My daughter met her husband online and now lives in Adelaide. She grew up in the US. Love how everyone there has fences. When my son-in-law came here to visit he couldn't believe how many houses in the US have no fences. Love the accent. Thanks for the great video.
Sure, you don’t need this Tesla. All you do is complain. This car is not for you.
I’m just pointing out the pros and cons for a prospective buyer. I don’t have this car any more, went to the Model Y.
Brilliant!
Thank you!
Did a Dyno, without a tune, +5 whp, +4tq, peak, 10 whp/9 tq gain 2k rpm to 3.5k rpm The full IE intake gets your double that with the tune, the K&N only made additional 2hp & 1tq if tune added.
I've had my 2 gallon (7.5 litre) for 5 years now and it doesn’t quite put out at the original rate but i still get .25 gpm (almost 1 litre pm). Works great tor pesticides and weed killers and i always wash it out thoroughly. I'm in central Texas.
I really like the look of this one. I just might have to grab this one up. I have two other 40 volt Ryobi mowers. They both I've been working flawlessly for me for 4 years straight now. And I got a half decent size yard. Plus I still have the two six amp hour batteries that came with it. And they're still going strong. He won't go wrong buying a 40 volt Ryobi mower. At least the ones that I have are holding up.
